Just as I finished writing the last post there was a knock on the door. It was a parcel I thought would come in maybe a fortnights time. The most beautiful Uchicake or wedding Kimono that I bought in a rash moment on ebay (are there any other moments on ebay?). It far exceeded my expectations. The only problem is that I thought I would cut it up for cushions...how on earth am I going to put the scissors to this beauty?

you are an amazing collector of all things ebay I just love this kimono.
I had myself a visit to all things Japanes the other day... I went on a mission to Kazari in Prahran to try to match some antique red silk, from a sewing job that I really messed up. Long story but I found the EXACT red with added embroidery. But just not quite enough length I bought it anyway to help with some brainstorming to fix the problem..
oh my. How beautiful is THAT! Are you REALLY going to cut it up?
Oh boy. I don't know. I've been swanning about the house in it. All I need are some high heeled toe thongs and some little white socks...
i think that you are not allowed to cut this up.
never ever.
high heeled toe thongs - geta
little white socks - tabi socks
did it come with the display stand?
No Roxi unfortunately it didn't come with the display stand. They are the photos from ebay. I cheated and saved them to cut down on blogging time.
You have to just leave it on display on the wall, no cutting it up, and definitely bring it down for swanning occasions.
the ayes have it no cutty uppy
